In late February, LinkedIN announced a few updates that will not only help businesses do more with their newsletter platform, but also giving individuals a chance to spruce up their profile. Straight from the article -
We’ve spruced up the Activity section of your LinkedIn Profile to more visibly display your content. Whether it’s images, videos, newsletters or documents, you get to choose the content type your Activity section shows first. This new experience will be available to all members in the next few weeks and we hope that as a result your network will quickly find and engage with your content, leading to more professional connections and opportunities. Analytics and tools have been updated as well, which were always ok...and the new reporting is still....ok. A few updates and easier to read some results. Overall, you should be able to see a cleaner display when you visit a profile, but more importantly, you can (and should) update your own profile. When visitors check out your profile, they can view specific elements of your activity. This is a good opportunity to revisit your profile, add some video and clean up what you have published...putting your best foot forward. This is a welcome update as you can now become more visual and the overall new look is cleaner, smoother. Some updates to LinkedIN Newsletters, as they state the use of newsletters on their platform is up 10X since 2021. You can now - Schedule newsletters and articles Add a one-click Newsletter subscribe link Improved search engine discovery for articles Streamlined newsletter discovery on LinkedIn From the article - We heard you loud and clear - you wanted the ability to schedule content on LinkedIn - and we’re happy to share it’s now possible. Last year, we introduced the option to schedule posts, and now we’re extending that feature to your newsletters and articles as well. This means you can plan your content in advance and share it at the best times to reach your audience. When you’re ready to post, simply tap the “schedule” button on your sharebox and select the date and time to go live. It’s that easy! Personally, these are solid updates. The profile updates and options has always tried to follow other social channels, but just sorta been stuck. This is a nice change to add more to your profile - sell yourself...and your brand! The newsletter aspect, I am sure they are welcome updates to those that use the platform for this reason. I personally have played with it, and find other outlets easier to use. Will that change? Perhaps. Will these updates cause me to rethink my entire newsletter plan? No. But, with each update comes a new chance to see if it is worth checking out. Right now, LinkedIN continues to adapt and change, and that is welcome as that outlet is still so powerful for each and every brand. Stuck and need social help?
